Elvis Returns to Central Texas on the Q’s Cassette Classic

Elvis makes the cassette today, 58 years after he left Fort Hood to the day.

It was 58 years ago today that Elvis finished his tank training down the road at Fort Hood. I was a big Elvis fan growing up because both my parents were fans. My favorite song, to this day, from Elvis was “Return to Sender”.

I really had no idea what the song was about. I just really liked the background singers singing “She wrote upon it”.

I was 22 when I sent someone a letter and it got returned. And low and behold it was stamped “Return to Sender”. Then I got it. For a while I thought he was singing “return descendants”.

What the heck did I know, but I will still put this song on the Cassette. Elvis Presley, “Return to Sender” on K1017.
