Future’s So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades Baby

The future didn't get as bright as they thought it was going to.

Back in 1986 a husband and wife team gave schools their graduation song for the year with “The Future so Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades”. It was Timbuk3, and we found out later the song really meant something else.

Writer Pat McDonald was saying that he was wearing shades because Reagan was going to blast the planet with nucs.

Yea, they were hippies. But music is what you want it to be, so I took it for it’s literal meaning, hippy logic be damned.
