Sometimes you have to make others happy with your cassette choices.

I was able to get my driver’s license at 15 instead of the usual 16 because I drove my brother to school and my mom to work. Well, since I had my mom in the car, I needed some songs that she’d like on the cassette.

My mom’s favorite movie at this time was that God awful “Dirty Dancing”. She made me watch it one time with her when I was sick with the flu. I was calling out the scene before it happened.

“He’s going to take his sunglasses off.”

“You have seen this”.

“Nope. It’s what we call a “predictable” movie”.

The barfing I did that afternoon was because of people dancing. But the parents paid the insurance, so when mom wants to listen to Patrick sing, Patrick was going to sing. And to be honest, the song was better than the movie. Here’s Patrick Swayze and “She’s Like the Wind”. Or, when I sang along, “She Breaks the Wind”.
