It doesn't get any more awesome than Allen Toussaint and Dr. John singing and playing "Yes We can Can"...until His Holiness the Dalai Lama goes over to catch some of the groove!

As listeners to my show know, I'm from New Orleans originally. I'll never forget the time I passed Allen Toussaint at the original New Orleans location of Whole Foods Market on Esplanade Avenue, a store with only about 900 sq. ft. of shopping area. He was impeccably dressed in summer linen. In the produce section, upon noticing him I froze, paralyzed in the presence of greatness, staring right at him like an idiot. "Hi," he politely said. I whispered back, "Thank you for the music," and pushed on. I was suddenly amazed at the realization he did his own shopping!

RIP. May perpetual light shine upon him.
