One of the great miracles of the modern age is the ability to experience rock concerts on television on regular basis. We remember the days when we had to wait till late Friday night for The Midnight Special or Don Kirshner's Rock Concert to see heavily-edited performances of your favorite artists. No longer: the Palladia channel, which started as MTV's high definition showcase now runs some of the best straightforward music programming on the air.  With the advent of YouTube you can now watch some of the same programming available. This afternoon I caught The Who Live at Kilburn. I don't know where Kilburn is, I don't know why The Who recorded the performance but it's lucky for us they did as it's the only full-length concert performance made before Keith Moon's untimely death. You wouldn't be able to tell because Moon is in full force in this performance, which was shot on 35mm film and recorded with a 16 track recorder - In other words it's absolutely pristine.

Dig for yourself, it's available on YouTube. (Note, the full concert is available for a fee. Poke around for individual cuts if you have ADD.)
