Maybe it’s a good thing Justin Bieber retired, his Music Documentary Movie “Believe” BOMBED, making just $2M, add up the five-day tally since the Christmas launch, the total only $4.3M .   Poor Beebs!

The highest ranked new movie at the box office this weekend,  “The Wolf of Wall Street’, it came in fifth with an estimated $18.5M over three days and $34.3M since Christmas Day. Congrats to Leo!

Topping the charts for the third straight weekend, “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” won a slim victory with an estimated $29.9M weekend take.

Second place went to the Disney animated blockbuster “Frozen” which grossed an estimated $28.8M .  That movie has made almost $250 million since it opened five weeks ago. Kids would rather freeze than "Walk with Dinosaurs", which came in at Number 12.

“Anchorman 2”  came in third followed by “American Hustle”.

“The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” opened at number seven with an estimated $13M, since Christmas it’s made an estimated $25.6M.

Oh, let’s not forget “47 Ronin” with Keanu Reeves, apparently movie goers did, forget, that is, the movie came in at number nine making an estimated $9.9M, while the five-day period brought in just $20.6M. After a year's delay and a $175 Million  budget, it was a very disappointing opening.

Also rejected was the Sylvester Stallone-Robert DeNiro boxing comedy “Grudge Match” which opened just outside the top ten at number 11, with an estimated $7.3M over the weekend.  The movie made only $13.4M  over five days.  I am so glad I did not go see "Grudge Match".   I will wait for it to come out on one of the movie channels.
