Killeen Celebrates the Army’s 239th Birthday
This year, the Army will be 239 years old and the city of Killeen is having a celebration! It is happening, June 12, in downtown Killeen from 4-7 pm, you can come for free, and you don’t even have to bring a present! There will be cake!
K101.7 will be there along with a car show, kid’s zone, vendors, arts and crafts, alcohol and T-shirt sales. Money from the T-shirt sales will help fund the Nov. 5, 2009, Fort Hood shooting memorial, which will be built in Killeen.
The cake cutting ceremony is at 4:30, there will also be a “Food Truck Face Off at 5:30. I have never seen one, so this will be a first for me.
Killeen also wants to show off the downtown renovations. The celebration will be on Avenue D between 4th and 8th streets.
