How cool it is that on my first post on the K-101.7 page I get to pay tribute to the one funny guy who inspired so many to do so little on so many Saturday mornings! Seriously, it's almost impossible to overstate how seminal Bugs Bunny's place is within the American cultural landscape 75 years to the day he officially debuted in the Tex Avery-directed short "A Wild Hare."

In the television era, the impact of the Looney Tunes on our humor is tremendous: in a previous birthday special, produced by SNL's Lorne Michaels, the likes of Bill Murray and Steve Martin (both of whom later starred opposite Bugs and the gang in Looney Tunes films of their own), Chevy Chase, David Bowie, Gen. Chuck Yeager, Kirk Douglas and many others played along. That says it all.
