Jumping over to the 80's, specifically 1984. I remember a friend of mine in the high school band, a bit of a wild card named Russ, out on the marching band practice field (a parking lot) whipping out a cassette player (kids ask your grandparents) and going gaga over this weird little keyboard intro. Actually, further examination leads one to discover that this guy is actually singing about wearing a pair of Denial Shades, a dark cousin to Rose Colored Glasses.
