Jumping over to the 80's, specifically 1984. I remember a friend of mine in the high school band, a bit of a wild card named Russ, out on the marching band practice field (a parking lot) whipping out a cassette player (kids ask your grandparents) and going gaga over this weird little keyboard intro. DOOT DOOT DOOT DOODOO.  And that was where I was introduced to this guy right here:

An import from Canada, this Corey Hart fella. Pouting his way through a song that at first listen is about some dip who likes to wear his shades at the wrong time. Actually, further examination leads one to discover that this guy is actually singing about wearing a pair of Denial Shades, a dark cousin to Rose Colored Glasses. You mean, people actually put thought into their lyrics once, Nikki Minaj?

In August of 1984, this song hit number seven in the U.S. Oddly, it only went to 27 in the artist's native Canada. So, the heck with them, let's make it today's-
