It began life a song by the Brothers Everly, but every red blooded boy in the seventies and their dads knew that this was the go-to version. Yup and yes sir. It hit a big number 2 in the year of 1975, in March, blasting out of a.m. radios the world wide. Moreover, it was the reason my neighbor's dad, Lyle was his name, broke down and put a cassette deck in his truck, so he could have Linda with him, where ever he went.

In fact, I remember Lyle's record collection being heavy on Linda, Emmylou Harris AND Dolly Parton. So when those three ladies formed a trio, he must have walked around without pants for at least a month.
