While band Paul McCartney spent the seventies alternating between silly little love songs and tunes with catchy choruses but barely intelligible hey-it-flows-so-whatever nursery rhyme simple verses, Lennon spent the decade baring his soul with songs and lyrics that laid his tumultuous psyche bare to the world. "Catchy" and "peppy" were arrows in his quiver not much used during this time.

Except for this barn burner, which fairly bounds around the sonic stage like an Easter Bunny who has been over-sampling his own wares. Or cocaine...whatever.
