When the pre-recorded National Anthem failed before this week's Holmes High School volleyball game, one very patriotic student saved the day and did so beautifully, garnering national acclaim.

Marina Garcia had her mind focused on the volleyball game ahead until the Holmes High School audio system stopped working. Without a way to play the Anthem there was no way to start the contest. That's when Marina volunteered to sing for her school and their fans.

When Marina finished she received a standing ovation from the crowd as well as her team mates. Marina said, "I honestly couldn't ask for more. They all had smiles on their faces. Some of them teared up. Some of them told me that they had chills and just that feeling that I can give people that emotion, that was so exciting."

Marina says it's a memory that will stay near and dear to her heart always.
