Movie-wise, here's what is coming up in the next couple of months!  Just in time for Halloween, it's Keanu "Whoa" Reeves starring as Nicholas Cage in not a John Woo adaptation of every Jason Statham movie ever. He's a hitman out of the game but then they kill his puppy AND PULL HIM BACK IN! Looks like his best action film since Chain Reaction. No, really.

Looks like fun for a drive in Friday night. (This doesn't make up for Dracula, Reeves.)

Seems like this trailer has been running forever. My kids are interested and it is from the folks who did Paranorman, which was way better than it had to be.  Based on a series of books I've never heard of but my kid enjoyed , this is about your standard issue orphaned boy raised by underground cave-dwelling trash collectors tries to save his friends from an evil exterminator. Stop-Motion, so you gotta admire the work that goes into that. Opens next week.

However, the kid's movie I'm most looking forward to is this:

Easily my favorite thing Dreamworks has ever done, very much an old school, 1940's Warner Brothers cartoon, straight up my alley, any time spent with Kowalski and the gang is time well spent. Commence Operation Watch The Trailer:

And that comes your way this November.

And now for the guys out there:

The official synopsis says, "April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines." Every man out there translates that as "Brad Pitt Blows Crap Up In A Big Frickin' Tank." Don't let the presence of Shia LeBeef  put you off this. Word of mouth on this is gangbusters. And cripes sake, Brad's name in the movie is "Wardaddy"!

I am in.

And lastly, folks, twenty years later we have this:

I still have faith that Jim Carrey has good work in him. I've been saying that for a long time, it seems. So, that bolsters me as this hits the screen in November, the belief that this could be a fun time, that this could reset Jim in his career and send him into a brighter, renaissance period, where his comedic potential is fully realiz-

-yeah, probably not.

I have seen this trailer in the theater and the laughs it generates every time are genuine and I am thinking way too hard about a sequel to Dumb and Dumber so here's the trailer:

Whew!

Let's end this on a dark DARK NOTE.

You can sum this up as nutbag loser makes money taking pictures of crime and accident scenes and in order to get more of everything, decides to start staging his own scenes. It's like Taxi Driver with a camera. Ladies and gentleman, I give you the comedic stylings of Gritty And Twisted.

And that's what's hitting your screens in the near future. Do yourself a favor, get a sitter and go see a movie. It's good for you. And tell them K-101.7 sent you. You won't get a discount or anything, but it'll sound good coming out of your face so just do it, already.
