Seriously, next to Star Trek, Spock and God, Belinda is George Cleverley's favorite. And this was her breakout hit, much to my father in law's great joy. Fresh from the wreckage of the Go Go's, the rompy frisky fun image giving away to internal strife and rampant drugging and partying, Belinda gave herself a complete makeover, classed things up, slapped on some huge frickin' false eyelashes and went straight for the adult contemporary crowd, keeping the edge on with Andy Taylor from Duran Duran on guitar. Today's song, released in 1986 and, historically, the very first marketed c.d. single, features two Go Go's on background vocals and hit a nice number three on the Billboard charts in 1986.
