A television news reporter and a cameraman in Moneta, Virginia were shot and killed Wednesday morning during a live report.

24-year-old WDBJ-TV reporter Allison Parker and 27-year-old photographer Adam Ward were interviewing Vicki Gardner, head of a local Chamber of Commerce, when a gunman approached and opened fire around 6:45 a.m. Two hours later, WDBJ reported that Parker and Ward died at the scene, and that Gardner, who was shot in the back, was transported to a hospital for emergency surgery.
