By the grace of Givens, we’ll have Walton Goggins back on TV as early as Sunday’s Vice Principals premiere, even if many will forever associate the Justified actor with his more colorful alter-ego, Boyd Crowder. FX put a pretty perfect cap on Boyd’s tale by the series finale, but by Goggins’ own admission, it might be time for a breakout return.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Goggins admitted to missing the colorful language and eclectic mannerisms of Boyd Crowder, who began Justified as a one-off villain, but survived to claim a central role as Yang to Raylan Givens’ Yin. FX hasn’t any real plans to revive Justified, though Goggins feels game for a Boyd breakout, perhaps a limited series to continue their dance:

I’ve never missed him as much as I did last September, when usually we go back to work. He’s never more than a cold beer and an intellectual, Machiavellian comment away.

He’ll get out [of prison]. Someday, he’ll get out. I’ll give it another three or four years, but he’ll get out. I wouldn’t be averse to returning to that relationship with Tim Olyphant’s Raylan Givens for a very specific run. Maybe there’s one more chapter to that story. It’s hard to kill your babies, man. It’s hard to lay them down.

We will happily throw all of the money (and a Dairy Queen franchise) at FX to make it happen, but might Raylan and Boyd have one last showdown in them?
