Trains Collide Head-On in Panhandle Crash

How on earth does something like this happen?! How do two trains find themselves on the same truck headed towards each other in an eminent crash?!

The unthinkable happened this morning near the town of panhandle here in Texas. Naturally there's going to be investigations by the NTSB  and the federal railway commission as investigators have already been dispatched. Again, it's hard to imagine what kind of human, mechanical  or computer error he put two trains traveling towards each other… I cannot wrap my head around it.

YouTube news had this video.  There's some pretty spectacular shots of the raging inferno caused by the collision. Hollywood could stage this but it might seem slightly less dangerous and slightly more comforting.

The company that owns the two trains says four employees were involved in the crash, with one treated and released at a local hospital.  In what must be a scene from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, this employee jumped the train as he saw what was about to happen. I don't know what's going through anyone's mind at that time but it's a scenario you never expect to find yourself in anytime anywhere in real life.

The three others are unaccounted for. Please keep their families and loved ones in your prayers.
