Every Thanksgiving we kill the Turkeys. Everyone loves the bird, so of course, we kill it. When you leave your Thanksgiving party, you always comment on how the bird was.

"That was dry. How do you destroy a Turkey that badly?"

"I know. Thank God the side dishes were good."

And there is the key to a good Thanksgiving dinner. The side dishes. Here are a few ideas for your dinner this Thanksgiving.

  • Cornbread Dressing

A Little Starch For Your Shirt

I had never had Cornbread Stuffing before I joined the Army. I was stationed at Ft. Jackson on year during Thanksgiving and that's what they served. It was amazing. I told the family back home that I had the best dressing ever. It was made with cornbread. Turns out I insulted Grandma. The next Thanksgiving I spent at home, Grandma brought me here Cornbread Dressing. It too was delicious.

  • Roasted Sweet Potatoes

    Roasted Heaven

What's better than a potatoe? A sweet potatoe. Then you roast it, and you've got a great Thanksgiving side.

  • Scalloped Corn

    Tasty Corn Treat

Before the cornbread stuffing hit our Thanksgiving table, my favorite side dish was Scalloped Corn. The crusty top was amazing. I would always try to get a scoop from the corner of the dish. Extra crunchy goodness.

  • Macaroni & Cheese

    Cheesy Thanksgiving

If you ever find yourself in the deep South. You will be treated to the best Macaroni & Cheese you'll ever taste in your life. If you feel you're slipping into sin and you might be in danger of losing your soul, grab your soul back in the form of food.
