The Universe Does Not Implode Though Zayn is Leaving One Direction

OMG!!!! Zayn is leaving One Direction.  You may not know or care  who Zayn Malik is, but millions upon millions of teenage girls are devastated.

First a little history.  One Direction is a group of five British kids who were thrown together after separate auditions for the British X Factor in 2010.  The boys didn't make it as individuals but the producers, including Simon Cowell, put them together as a group. Member Harry Styles came up with the name One Direction, and the rest is history.

So in the group we have Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson. Don't ask me which is which, I only know Harry.

But lots of girls are groovin on Zayn Malik.

And Zayn is leaving the group.  It was officially posted on the One Direction Facebook page.

"After five incredible years Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction. Niall, Harry, Liam and Louis will continue as a four-piece and look forward to the forthcoming concerts of their world tour and recording their fifth album, due to be released later this year.

Zayn says: "My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologise to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight."

And now the sound of crying is heard all over the world.  Even Harry cried!

This fan was really upset.

And she is not the only one!

Bye, Bye Zayn. Harry, you better not go anywhere!
