Texas Can Secede From Itself

A lot of folks always swell up with pride on this Texas Independence Day. Some folks are misguided and thinking that Texas would be better if it went alone as an independent nation. Now we all know what happened when that was tried, and ever since the end of the Civil War, Texas has been a loyal member of the union known as the United States of America. But according to a recent article in the Smithsonian magazine, Texas actually has the right to split in self into five smaller states.

Smithsonian says Vice President John Nance garner who earlier in his political career was a congressman from Texas actually argued for this to happen. The reason? Increase the number of Senators for Texas!
