Activate your alarm system; if applicable.

Always park in well-lighted areas and be familiar with your surroundings

Valuables left in plain sight provide an irresistible target for would be thieves. The most effective way to prevent an offense is to take valuables into your home or secure them in the trunk. Don’t wait until you park and leave the vehicle before placing property into the trunk. Potential offenders that see these actions will simply enter your car and open the trunk to steal the property.

Document the serial numbers for your property and/or engrave an owner applied number onto your property to help locate and identify it in case of theft.

Report all burglary and theft offenses to the police department as soon as discovered.
