After all of the hard work and dedication from the Temple Wildcat family this year, my heart feels heavy informing you that Temple Wildcat assistant coach Toby Rumfield and his family were subjected to a home robbery while participating in the State Championships over the weekend.

While the whole city of Temple was welled up with pride on Saturday, the family returned home around 8 p.m. to find their backdoor wide open and their house ransacked.

The house was just turned upside down. They had gone through every drawer, every closet. - Toby Rumfield

The Rumfield family said when they had a friend check the home at 6 p.m. it was secure.

Among the items stolen were:

  • a watch
  • 9 video games
  • 2 flat screen TVs
  • 2 iPads
  • a PlayStation 4
  • jewelry
  • 2 Cincinnati Reds Championship Rings were also reported missing

Rumfield played professional baseball, is the Wildcat''s defensive end coach and head baseball coach for Temple. He also teaches history.

This is the second time his family was targeted as State Championship tickets were stolen from a vehicle in his driveway earlier this month.
