Takata Finally Agrees To Widen The Defective Airbag Recall

Takata Corporation has now expanded the defective airbag recall to over 33 million vehicles.  The company has set a record for the largest auto recall in US history. If you own a Toyota or Honda, you will probably get a recall notice in the mail. 

You also might get one if you own a Ford, Chrysler, BMW, Dodge, or a Subaru and the list goes on. Over 33 million cars have these defective airbags. You are supposed to get those dangerous bags fixed right away. If the airbag housing ruptures in a crash, metal shards from the airbag can be sprayed throughout the car, and that can kill you.  Six fatalities and more than 100 injuries have been linked to the Takata airbags.

I repeat you are supposed to get the airbags fixed right away, but guess what, it might take Takata, years to make enough replacement airbags for 33 million vehicles. The owners most affected are in humid climates, so they get first fix and it could be weeks or months before their replacement airbags arrive.
