Eliza O’Neill just broke the Go Fund Me donation record.  The Saving Eliza campaign started by her parents has raised almost 1.8 million dollars.

That is how much is needed to put Eliza in a clinical trial that just might save her life.  Eliza has a terrible disease called Sanfilippo Syndrome-Type A.  It is terminal.

Her parents say Eliza is missing an essential enzyme for normal cellular function. Over time, a toxic material called heparan sulfate builds up in her brain and body leading to severe disability and death before she turns 13.  Last night they still needed about $230 thousand to reach that 1.8 million dollar goal.

That money will be used for a treatment developed by researchers at Nationwide Children's Hospital. They discovered a breakthrough gene therapy treatment that can stop this disease, but the clinical trial needs money to make the medicine, administer the treatment, and remain on schedule.  Eliza just turned five and her parents say she is showing signs of the disease, she needs treatment  soon before she sustains irreversible damage.

It's stories like these that make you shake your head in disgust at all the money so called "celebrities" spend on expensive useless crap.

I have faith that the ordinary people of the world will continue to help this little girl and all the other desperate people who have to resort to website fundraising just so they can live.
