Tim Chavez has a Saint Bernard named Jazzy and a tiny dachshund named Razor.   The two doggies are the best of friends. Thank goodness for that. Thanks to their irresponsible owner, Razor had to save Jazzy's life!

KRQE reports that Sunday afternoon the 9 year old St Bernard, Jazzy, ran off.    By Monday morning Tim still hadn’t found her, and he had to go to work.  Meantime the little dog, Razor is just going crazy. He was barking, and running amok according to Tim.  Razor was even barking at the neighbor.  Turns out he was trying to tell Tim that the Saint Bernard needed help.

But nobody could speak dog so Razor got frustrated and took off across a field   I am not sure where Tim was at this point. But a passerby followed Razor and saw Jazzy, the big Saint Bernard stuck in a muddy irrigation ditch.

Somebody called 911 and eight police and firefighters showed up for a rescue.  Using backboard straps and a long spine board, just like they would for a person, the big 180 pound dog was saved. Tim thinks Jazzy was stuck in that cold, muddy ditch for about 18 hours.   Razor is credited with making the rescue happen.  She will be honored at the next city council meeting.

But wait there is more Tim’s pit bull terrier named Layla also ran away from home with Jazzy and she is still missing.

Maybe we should start a Go Fund Me Campaign to get Tim a fence!
