Rick Nelson Dies in a Plane Crash on the Way to Dallas

Do you all remember when Rick, Ricky, Nelson died?  Where were you New Years Eve 1985?

I was visiting my old stomping ground in Minot North Dakota.  I was on break from College and decided to go in on a hotel party with some old High School friends.  We had just got the key to the room and were setting up the bar. (Code for putting ice in the tub for the keg)  Since I don't drink, I was the official designated driver, I would hall people from our hotel party to other hotel party's, or a house party and back again.  I thought it would be a pain, but this was that year that I found out how friendly drunk woman are.  Good times.

We had the radio on in the room when it was announce that Rick Nelson and his band died in a plane crash.  I made mention of the fact that I was shocked by this.  I was then ridiculed mercilessly for liking Ricky Nelson. I tried my best to defend the man, I mean, "Garden Party" truly is a classic.  This was also the time that I learned that reasoning with drunks is futile.

He also did a movie with a couple of legends...John Wayne and Dean Martin in "Rio Bravo"
