Hey Gang,

It was on this day in 1991 that the band R.E.M. had a big day.  "Losing My Religion" won Six MTV Video Music Awards.  But it was far from their best work.

For me, and others, R.E.M. peaked in the 80's.  Their hit "Orange Crush" was huge.  Sure, it might not have reached the sell volume they would reach in the 90's, but this song accomplished something even harder.  It launched a Alt-Rock band from Athens Georgia, off of College Radio, and onto the Mainstream ears of the norms.

It came out,(phrasing), in 1988 of R.E.M.'s sixth studio LP, "Green".  The Video, directed by Matt Mahurn, won the band it's very first VMA for Best Post-Modern Video.  And ladies, if you enjoy shirtless men, then you should enjoy this.
