It being a "national" holiday and all, 4/20, it seemed like the perfect time to have a food test.

Today we're testing out one of the "Food Truck" Flavors from Pringles.

These chips started showing up in January of this year, and now they've made it to my store. They were on sale for a dollar. Did I over pay? We'll get to that in a minute.

The problem with these special flavored chips is that they usually come off tasting bland. As you can see, these have "something" smothered all over them. Yea, bland was not a word brought up with these.

I took them around the station and offered them to my co-workers. I'm not going to say that they're no longer talking to me, but it will be a quite day.

First up was Dave.

"it tasted like something you scraped up off the floor of a Mexican bus"

I don't think Dave will play by game again. I figured, since he was born and raised in Texas, he could handle a good kick in the gut. He might be able to, but the chip had to get passed his tongue first, and that was too big a hurdle. The chip ended up in the garbage. Didn't even come close to the gut.

When asked to describe the taste Dave said..."it tasted like something you scraped up off the floor of a Mexican bus". Now I know not everyone has a good time south of the boarder, but that statement scared me. I really don't want to know that story.

Next was Marianne.

How do you make a chip taste like meat?

Marianne was asked what her favorite Pringles were, and it was Cheddar Sour Cream. How do you make a chip taste like meat?I've never heard of them, but it turns out the Kickin' Chicken Taco flavor does not beat them. She did say..."It's kind of creepy that they really do taste like chicken enchilada's. How do you make a chip taste like meat?".

Then there's Shelly. She mentioned that they were very flavorful, but would she choose them over here favorite flavor, Original, we'll let the picture tell the story.

NOPE.

So that's three up and three down. End of an inning. Personally, I didn't mind them. I've tried all the flavors that Pringles has come out with, except that Cheddar Sour Cream one that Marianne likes. This was far from the best, but at least it was identifiable and not just some stale chip. It's my opinion that if you like a good taste kick then by all means, give these a try. Or, go insane, and just eat a chicken taco.
