Temple police are investigating after thieves broke a gate at Johnson Brothers Ford and drove away with two pickup trucks.

Officers responded to the dealership on Friday after receiving a criminal mischief complaint. During their investigation, they noted the damage to the gate and found that a pole used to support it had been torn from the ground. They also found fresh tire marks near the damaged pole. A representative of the business told police at the time that it was unclear if anything had been stolen.

Police were called again Saturday after management determined that two trucks were missing. The trucks are a white 2015 Ford F-250 and a maroon and tan 2011 Ford F-250.

Security footage shows a four-door sedan pulling up the lot and two suspects exiting the vehicle. Moments later, the two trucks are seen driving away. The theft took less than 30 seconds.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Police Department at 254-298-5500. Information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-TIPS or (254) 526-TIPS. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to information leading to an arrest and conviction.
