Police in McLennan County arrested three people Tuesday who they say planned to distribute high-grade marijuana in Bell and Coryell Counties.

Deputies were dispatched to assist with a disturbance call at Tonkawa Falls Park in Crawford Monday evening. The disturbance had broken up by the time they arrived, but deputies spotted a suspicious vehicle and stopped it on State Highway 317 between Crawford and McGregor.

Deputies seized 3 to 5 pounds of hydroponically grown marijuana and arrested the three occupants of the vehicle.

Chanda Ly, 28, Brandon Scott Toffoli, 24, and Alexander Lee Tran, 31, were taken to the McLenna County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana more than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds. Ly and Tran each face an additional charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Toffoli is being held on $5,000 bond. Tran’s bond was set at $7,000. As of Tuesday afternoon, Ly’s bond had not been set.

Authorities believe the marijuana seized was headed from Dallas to the Fort Hood area for distribution.
