I didn't know what your song of the day would be. Sometimes it takes ten minutes or more of staring intently at Dave's Wall Of Music to figure it out. Date of release, pep quotient, chart position, appeal to the ladies index, it comes in to play. Still, this boy was stumped. Then it happened.

Taking the insane eight year old to his softball practice, the fifteen year old in the passenger seat, I tossed in Aerosmith's Pump just for giggles. Clicked over to "What It Takes" and good lawd, it all came flooding back, playing this song on the radio, playing it in clubs, listening to it in 1990 when my car ran out of gas cos I'm an idiot. Thing of it is, though, this song is insanely catchy. I run hot and way WAY cold on Aerosmith, never wanna hear certain songs by them EVER again...but the hooks in this song are crazy sharp. Like a tacklebox of candy falling open on your brain.

By the second time through, my daughter, never one to brand whatever I'm listening to as "old guy music" was singing right along. That is a powerful tune, trust me.
