get me to try Gumbo. All the gumbo's they offered had seafood of some type. I don't like seafood. I'm not a fan of eating things that swim in it's own toilet.

I know, it's a bold statement. It stems from when I was in the 5th grade. We had a fish tank. One day when I was watching them one fish pooped. Then another fish came up behind and ate the poop. I was unable to eat any fish since then. I've since learned that it's all part of nature, but that doesn't mean I wanna eat poop eaters to complete the circle of life.

So when people set a bowl of gumbo down in front of me, I pushed it back. I've tried a few, but they've been chicken or sausage based. There might have been some seafood bits in it, but if I don't see it, then it wasn't in there. I want to like gumbo. I like any food that has a reputation as being better when it's a "Left-over". I've leaned to spice up some meals in the 13 years I've been down here, but I've held fast on the "No Seafood" rule.

If you'd like to try your hand at making you're own gumbo. Try this.
