Killeen police say a 16-year-old runaway girl may be in need of medical attention.

Rubie Matos has been missing from her home since June 24. On June 28, Matos’ mother spotted the girl, who ran from her. As she was running, Matos reportedly jumped over a fence and injured her ankle.

Matos’ mother, Cynderella Fonken, was told by police that her daughter was seriously injured and is in need of medical treatment.

Rubie Matos is Hispanic with a light complextion and dyed black hair standing 5’6” tall and weighing around 140 pounds. Her mother says the teen wears contacts, but sometimes wears glasses.

"She's a wonderful girl who takes on a lot of responsibility," said Fonken. "Please help and spread the word about my daughter."

Already the hashtag #FindRuby has been made prominent on social media. Please make use of it.

If anyone knows of the girl’s whereabouts, they are asked to contact the Killeen Police Department at 254-501-8800 or her mother at 254-813-4905.
