Of the two movie reviewers at K1017fm.com, I tend toward the less intellectual, more populist taste. Which means get me giggling like a schoolgirl with your trailer, I'll probably be there opening night. Which has burned me innumerable times in the past. This time, however, I think an upcoming film just might have a decent chance of a good follow through. Maybe. READ ON!

I dunno. This cast, as you can see, is killer. Most of them, however, have been known to waste their talents in projects beneath their skill sets, especially Owen Wilson. Also there does seem to be a lot of mileage taken with a funny haircut, which is never a good sign. The director, however, did give us Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre, so he knows how to do blank faced stupid right. Then again, the last trailer I laughed this hard at was that Dumb and Dumber sequel from last summer, which had a great trailer but the actual movie made me wanna knaw my own eyes out. And Owen Wilson, again, has made these kind of comedy cast jamboree movies before, and rarely succeeded. Also I'm still mad at him for I Spy, Marley And Me, Starsky And Hutch, The Big Bounce and...well, you get the idea. On the plus side, Kristen Wiig. On the negative side, the fifty other movies Kristen Wiig has been in this year. Also on the plus side, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon from S.N.L. are on hand. On the negative side, a shot himself in the butt joke. And the stuff with the kids looks absolutely deadly. That ramming the car into the gates thing, however, that's golden.

Oy. I'm at a loss. Listen, just check out the trailer and laugh. It's a good one. You have plenty of time to decide whether to join me in the audience or not. Masterminds opens mid-August.

And speaking of critics, check out our latest review her on the site, that being the one for the new Pixar feelings fest, Inside/Out.
