A man is dead after a motorcycle collision in Killeen Tuesday night.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Martin Luther King Blvd and Zephyr Rd. shortly before 6:30 pm. A preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford Focus facing north on MLK was stopped at the traffic light. Meanwhile, a southbound Yamaha motorcycle increased its speed as it approached the intersection. When the Ford Focus entered the intersection to turn left, the motorcyclist crashed into the passenger side of the sedan.

The victim, 25-year-old Jeffery Chug Durrant of Killeen, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:66pm. His remains have been sent to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas for autopsy.

The Killeen Police Department is expected to release more information as the Traffic Unite continues its investigation.
