Thursday, It'll be 6 years that we lost Michael Jackson. Let the Tributes begin.

You may not of liked Michael in the later years as his music genius was clouded with bad accusations, but you can not dispute his title as the "King of Pop". I'm not ashamed to say that I owned "Off the Wall". In fact, I liked it better than "Thriller". How you ask. Mainly because "Thriller" became the dead horse that everyone was kickin'. Way too much play. Even today, the songs have a high burn factor.

The tributes started in 2001 really. The group Alien Ant Farm gave "Smooth Criminal" a sharper edge. Remember this one?

If you doubt Michael's influence, then you need to check this out from Chris Cornell. If you don't know, he was the lead singer of one of the biggest groups that changed music in the 90's...Soundgarden

Just in the last few days a few more tributes have come out. Miguel Rivera gave the hit "Beat it" a smooth acoustic treatment which is really raw but good.

And on the same day a Capella  group Pentatonix did the evolution of Michael.

These guys will be in will be in Texas in August if you'd like to see them live.

8/29/15 – Austin, TX | Austin 360 Amphitheatre
8/30/15 – Dallas, TX | Gexa Energy Pavilion

Of course the best tribute was done by the one and only Weird Al Yankovic
