The most American weekend of the year is nearly upon us, and how else would you like to spend it than by watching the best fireworks the area has to offer? Here's the breakdown on the awesome shows you can catch in Temple, Killeen, Waco, and Belton.

Temple

Miller Park, 1919 N. 1st Street. Free and open to the public.

The All American Family Fun Fest's games, activities, and food open up at 4:00 p.m., with live music from Jenna McDaniel and the Sloppy Joe Band getting underway at 6:30 p.m. Only want fireworks? The big show starts at 9:30 p.m.

Killeen/Ft. Hood

Hood Stadium, behind the Clear Creek Post Exchange. General public must enter through the Clear Creek Gate. Free and open to the public.

Fort Hood's Independence Day Celebration kicks off at 5:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Live music, including Pat Waters, Max Stalling, and the 1st Cavalry Division Bands Warrior's Call and the Crossfire Brass Band, starts at 6:00 p.m., climaxing with an 'extravagant' 30-minute fireworks presentation at 9:30 p.m.

Waco

Downtown Waco. Free public parking available. Free and open to the public.

Waco's Fourth on the Brazos has food, drink, and the third annual Corndog Classic Eating Competition at 7:50 p.m., with fireworks to follow at 10:00 p.m.

Belton

Parade: Downtown Belton. Festival: Yettie Polk Park, 101 S Davis St. Carnival: Confederate Park, 700 Confederate Park Drive. All are free and open to the public (carnival activities may cost extra).

Even without fireworks, Belton has one of the biggest Independence Day celebrations around. Check out the Celebration Parade at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, check out local vendors and more at the Festival, all day Friday, or visit the three-day Carnival, July 3-5.
