Julia’s Fantastic Feat of Frivolity is a Cartwheel
When I was 17, it was a very good year. I was limber and fast. I could do flips and back bends and of course cart wheels.
That photo inspired me to go back to the time when every girl I knew thought they could be a gymnast.
It may have been a few years before that, when we were all hanging upside down on the monkey bars, pulling ourselves up, and flipping round and round. If I tried that now I would probably rip my arms off.
So I decided to stay away from the monkey bars and stay on the ground. My goal this time is to do a cart wheel. Those are so easy, hands on the ground, legs in the air, land on your feet and stand up straight. Piece of Cake!
A shot of courage in the form of Bourbon would have come in handy!
