It’s been a while since we heard anything about Kenneth Branagh’s new adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express, based on Agatha Christie’s classic mystery novel. Branagh is set to direct the film, in which he’ll also star as famed fictional detective Hercule Poirot, and it looks like he’s begun assembling his cast of suspects, as Angelina Jolie is in talks to come aboard the project.

Variety reports that Jolie is in “early talks” to star opposite Branagh in Murder on the Orient Express, which is — you guessed it — a murder mystery that takes place aboard a train. Based on Christie’s 1934 novel of the same name, the story follows Detective Poirot as he sets about solving the titular murder which could have been committed by any number of the train’s passengers.

Sidney Lumet previous adapted the book for his classic 1974 film, which starred Albert Finney as Poirot opposite a killer ensemble featuring Lauren Bacall, Jacqueline Bisset, Sean Connery, Ingrid Bergman, Anthony Perkins, Vanessa Redgrave and Michael York. There have also been a couple of TV movies based on the novel, including the 2001 version starring Alfred Molina in the lead role. About a dozen actors have portrayed Poirot on stage and screen throughout the years, including Peter Ustinov and Ian Holm.

In addition to directing and starring in the new remake, Branagh will produce Murder on the Orient Express with Ridley Scott and Simon Kinberg. Michael Green (Blade Runner 2) wrote the screenplay for the new adaptation, which is currently set to hit theaters in November 2017.

Jolie most recently directed and starred in By the Sea, and is set to reprise her villainous role for Maleficent 2.
