Big Q here.  31 years ago the theme to a huge movie hit number one.  Feel free to read on...if you have no where else to go.

Did you get the line reference?  Officer and a Gentleman was the movie.  "Up Where We Belong" was the ballad that reach the top of the charts.

One of the producers of the move, Don Simpson, tried to get the song off the movie claiming it wasn't a hit, which is why he produces movies not music.  Not only was the song a hit, it also won a Grammy Award for the artist, Joe Cocker, and Jennifer Warnes.
