Today is Patriot's Day. And I'll bet it's easy for you to remember what you were doing on September 11, 2001, when terrorists crashed planes into the World Trade Center in New York, and we we never going to be the same again.

It is especially easy for me to remember what I was doing that morning.  I was standing right were I was standing THIS morning, in the K1017 control room.  Back then, I was hosting the COOL 101.7 morning show, when it was an oldies station, playing music from the '60s and early '70s.

I had a TV monitor that we always kept on the news channel so we could keep up with the latest news and weather, and, all of a sudden, there was a live picture of smoke coming out of the World Trade Center.  I thought it was a tragic accident-- that a plane had crashed into the building.  Then later on, when the second plane crashed into the other tower, I knew it was no accident.  I knew we were under attack.

I will never forget that day.  And this morning, I was standing in the exact same spot that I was in when it all happened back then.

It makes me want to hear this song...

See you tomorrow on the morning show!
