Just yesterday when I was playing Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" on the air, I was trying to separate the song from the images rolling through my mind. Unfortunately, I was flashing back between the original music video and Steve Martin's parody version...

Then I decoded to just listen to the song for the pleasure of its musical merits. What a great song, masterfully produced by Quincy Jones with great sophistication. No wonder Thriller holds up all these years later. Video's pretty good too:

So when I see this post shared on Facebook about Greg Kihn and the making the video for "Jeopardy," naturally the first thing to pop in my head was this:

Then I realized, "Idiot! That's the parody version." Yes, Greg Kihn is in this video doing an homage to his own video, but it's not... oh, see it for yourself:

Not a bad visualization at all. Very well done.

If a song and its video can be enjoyed independently of each other, great, fine, good. If a song needs a video to make it enjoyable, then Houston we have a problem.
