Pound puppies are what we are trying to get adopted among our listening audience. Most strays picked up by Temple Animal Services are not the kind of dogs that would have papers and registration, rather the good old mutt dominates the kennel cages on Mama Dog Circle. And it's not often we are given a purebred dog to introduce on our morning radio program. This week was one of those rare moments. Meet Thor, the boxer.

When Walter Hetzel's crew first picked Thor up, the full-grown boxer was a stray amazingly enough, which somewhat explains his skinny appearance. But this boy is in perfect health  and as sweet as can be. Oh sure, his face looks like a boxers scowl but there's charm in that frown!

Temple Animal Services is located at 620 Mama Dog Circle in Temple, just off 31st Street and Avenue H. To learn about adopting this sweet little dog or one just right for you and your family, click here for the City of Temple Website. They also have GIFT CERTIFICATES so your loved one can pick out the perfect pet of their own.

Be sure to listen in every Friday morning on K101.7 when Temple’s top Animal Services officer Walter Hetzel joins us in studio with another furry friend.

Our weekly segments with our pets of the week are brought to you by Rescue Magazine. All of the animal agencies in Central Texas are represented in this publication including Temple’s Animal Shelter.
