1988. 27 years ago. Where were you? Diamond Dave was two years past his first solo album, just as his former band reached prime form, owning their place on the charts with a different lead in front. Does David Lee Roth still have what it takes? Especially with Rickey Morton on the drums!?!

In radio station control rooms, some things show up and are immediately stolen. Some things hang around, on the counter, near the console, unwanted, for seemingly ever.. Back in 1988, round about the time I got bored on an overnight shift and filled with studio with balloons, this album showed up on day, and stayed, forlorn, unwanted. I still remember it, sitting there on the counter, week after week, waiting for somebody, anybody to spirit it away, perhaps to somebody's car, where it would wind up on the floor boards, next to old Jack In The Box receipts and yellowing copies of Radio And Records. The c.d. single, however, went home with someone, quickly.

Today's song was produced by and features prominently the work of hotshot guitarist Steve Vai, because Dave's other talents besides shouting in key and running his wise guy mouth was surrounding himself with players of a caliber far above his own. With their assistance, this tune went all the way to a big fat number ten on the Billboard Hot One Hundred in the spring of 1988, cozying up to chart hits at the same time like that of Rick Astley, Belinda Carlisle and Keith "I Want Her" Sweat. From it's Wiki entry,  Music critic Charles Bottomley called the song "a polished ode to decadence, with a chorus you would be unashamed to punch the air to".
