Fort Hood

Additional Information

Families are invited to visit cemeteries within the live-fire training areas on Fort Hood May 24 as part of an annual Memorial Day visit. Families may visit cemeteries between 7 a.m.-7 p.m. without area access clearance. Range Control will have guides available to assist Families and will monitor cemetery visits to ensure that all visitors are clear of the live-fire training areas on time.
Signs will be posted along roads giving directions to the cemeteries. Roads that may be used are East Range, Hubbard, West Range, and Owl Creek. No vehicle pass is required for Memorial Day visits.

Every Memorial Day weekend, families of those who lived in more than 40 communities on the land that is now Fort Hood, are invited to visit the 19 cemeteries that still dot the installation. For more information, call Greg Simpson at the Range Control Operations Office at 553-1943 or 287-3130.
