Central Texas College (CTC) will host Student Success Week, April 27 – May 1. Each day’s event is free and open to all students and the public.

The week kicks off with an advising-advocacy event, Monday, April 27 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the courtyard area between the Anderson Campus Center (Bldg. 156) and the Student Center (Bldg. 106). Faculty advisors and guidance counselors will help students who need to change or update their current degree plan.

Representatives from the CTC Disability support services group will be on hand to discuss services.

 

On Tuesday, April 28, the CTC Career Center will hold a Career Fair and Internship Expo in the Anderson Campus Center from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Students should dress for success, and bring multiple copies of their resume.

Distance Education will be featured on Wednesday, April 29. Participants will learn to use the latest techniques to improve learning and increase their access to online education. This service will be available from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Anderson Campus Center.

 

The annual Student Success Fair will be held Thursday, April 30 in the Anderson Campus Center from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.. Academic departments will offer degree plan tune-ups, supplemental instruction, assistance with distance education and online learning and tutoring. In addition, students can meet with school representatives and outside vendors to gain information on nutrition and wellness, financial literacy, career options, job seeking tips, resumé support and stress management. Assistance and support for substance abuse and domestic/family issues and other concerns such as childcare resources and transportation will also be addressed.

 

Student Success Week will close Friday, May 1 with an all day Study-Up from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. in the Academic Studio, located on the second floor of the Student Center (Bldg. 106). Free tutoring will be provided as well as assistance with final exam prep. Students can also put the finishing touches on end-of-semester projects, papers, speeches and other assignments. Staff members and tutors will be on hand to help with a variety of subjects and offer academic clinics, workshops and study groups. Students are encouraged to bring snacks, textbooks and other study-related materials. There will be contests, prizes, free food and drink and a few surprises during study breaks.
