Back in the mid '80s, I remember spending sick days and most summer days in front of the TV, watching reruns of Andy Griffith, Gomer Pyle & Knightrider.  One commercial sticks out more than most, and I quote it to this day.

From time to time, as I play Free's "Alright Now", it makes me think of the old Freedom Rock commercial.  Even as an 8-year-old at the time I could see and hear just how awful that commercial was, despite the great music.  As a matter of fact, looking back, if I could I'd get that album for myself in 2015 I'd do it.  It was those sick days in front of the TV (pre-DVR, obviously) that the commercial got stuck in my head.  The only other commercials I can really remember from those days are the truck driving school commercials

It was reading the news today about the death of Free's bassist, Andy Fraser, that made me take the time to track down the commercial on YouTube.  Take a moment to go back to the days when David Hasselhoff was known for his car more than his alcoholism.  Good times.
