A dog named Dixie is going to get a lot of attention around these parts.  Especially with eyes of two distinctly different colors.

I mean look at that face!

We're getting a lot of Australian cattle dogs in our visits with Walter Hetzel from Temple Animal Services. Given the presence of cattle in the Central Texas area, it doesn't surprise anyone that a dog bred to handle bovines is getting a lot of play in this area.

We've also seen these Australian cattle dogs as extremely friendly, the kind of loving dog a family would want to have whether they own pets or cattle or neither.  They could even name it Snuggles and make it a very distinct part of the family.

Get yourself a furry friend! Please contact Temple Animal Services, 620 Mama Dog Circle in Temple, to learn about adopting this sweet pup or one just right for you and your family. They also have GIFT CERTIFICATES so your loved one can pick out the perfect pet of their own.

Be sure to join us Friday mornings on K101.7 when Temple’s top Animal Services officer Walter Hetzel joins us in studio with another furry friend.

Our weekly segments with our pets of the week are brought to you by Rescue Magazine. All of the animal agencies in central Texas are represented in this  publication. If you can't find the dog or cat do you want in this magazine, it does exist or you're weird.
