donations and embrace the military community to give back the troops and veterans in need. She says..."Supporting the USO means a great deal to, not only us, but our community as a whole."

She was awarded recognition from Fort Hood as a 2014 Good Neighbor. She is among only 46 recipients over the past 19 years to have received this prestigious honor.

Sandra Skinner established her charity, "Furniture for Families", as a way to help the surrounding community when, after a crisis, they can't acquire basic items for a home. Her Furniture Bank takes in donated furniture and beds, then provides them free of charge to those in need.

According to the press release, homeless veterans getting off the street, and abused family members leaving shelters, are among the hundreds of families that have received help. Skinner and her team also provide furniture to key places within Fort Hood.

Skinner is quoted as saying, "My father was a veteran and fought in WWII. Growing up, my parents instilled the importance of giving back to both the local and military communities."

Ashley Furniture HomeStores in Killeen is a family owned residential furniture store that has bee serving the area for over 50 years. Again, congratulations to Sandra Skinner for her recognition from Fort Hood, and the USO.
