This is the Coolest Thing You’ll See in the Next Few Minutes [VIDEO]

Yeah. This is pretty rad, decent and slightly awe inspiring. Rocket elevator to history, going up.  Remember that old video game, Myst? Stupidly hard to play, but there was something about wandering through the human free island landscape, eerie, ghostly, awesome in it's isolation. This video reminds me of that, especially the sound effects of the elevator, and there aren't any puzzles to cheat on.

According to the New York Times (you don't subscribe? for shame), the observatory at One World Trade Center will open next month and will feature five elevator banks with the enclosed video mind blower, giving you a 47 second ride to 102 floor and an amazing upward zoom through the history of New York, from mosquito ridden settlement on the Hudson to the sprawling over populated sprawl of tall we have today. Also somewhere in there is a hidden easter egg depicting the erecting of Donald Trump's hair.  (There's also an elevator ride to the top of that.)

One World Trade Center’s observation deck will open May 29.
